Easter trip to Roozengarde
Where we live many people take an annual trip to see the local Tulips and other Spring flowers on Easter. This year, due to weird winter weather, flowers are already blooming. Enjoy the colors. I thought clouds in the sky looked pretty angelic so that pic made the list. Really having fun exploring the creativity of photography.

Cherry Blossoms at the UW
The University of Washington has Japanese cherry trees in many spots on its campus. They are blooming a bit early this year so I thought I would take the Nikon out for a spin and see if I could capture some of the beauty. There were thousands of people with the same idea, I took pictures of the trees and plants that interested me. Enjoy. My favorites are probably the tight shots of the blooms and the canopy shots that shows the branches like veins to the body of the tree

North of Seattle ship canal neighborhoods - Neon
Friday Nights seem to be my time to get out and take some pictures. This time time the area was Seattle North of the ship canal, Ballard, Wallingford, Shilshole, Fremont and one Ravenna snuck in there - the beer hall. It is fun to get out and find some cool perspectives of places you see so often you take them for granted. I have been to quite a few of the places in these pictures in my younger Seattle days. The Ray's Boathouse picture was by far the most challenging sh

Edmonds water front
Took a trip to Edmonds for some seascape photos using the Olympus. Started out to be a bright and shiny day but got cloudy as the day progressed. Took hundreds of pictures and ended up with these to share. Playing with black and white a little bit and some horizon shots The Anemone picture I think is really cool. Its actually about the size of a quarter and I upped the contrast a little bit to give it some more definition. The winter moorage pic I made black and white and

Everett Neon Project
As a fledgling photographer I created a project to capture the city around me. It gives me a chance to take a bunch of pictures and scratch the surface on tweaking them so they look their "best" I am focusing on framing and rule of thirds and different angles that show a different perspective, Funny thing is the Wild Rainier picture I didn't realize I had until I pulled the pics from the camera. It was actually caught in the Fireplace photo, I pulled it out scaled it and

Genealogy
I started my work in genealogy decades ago with the Church of Latter Day Saints. The Mormons are big into Genealogy and have a tremendous amount of information on your ancestors. For people without those family connections, Genealogy is about filling in the gaps. I started with very little information on my mother's family. She died young and had no relationship with her mother or father who were both deceased long before I started my genealogy journey. I honestly didn'

Test Post to see how blogging works
I took a trip to Anacortes to visit Glen. he is showing me the ropes on photography. I'm using a camera he gave me an Olympus E500. Its a nice little camera that generates some pretty nice images. To say its fully featured is a bit of understatement. The manual is 216 pages long and kind of a small tutorial on photography in and of itself. As far as the pictures above, the Bald Eagle and Mt Baker seascape is from Cap Sante in Anacortes. The nightscape of Seattle is from
